A bright, textured white from Sicily made from 100% Catarratto. Citrus and yellow fruit meet Mediterranean herbs and a distinctly salty, mineral edge, with plenty of freshness and just enough texture to give the wine some weight. It’s dry and medium-bodied, with a powdery, mineral finish that feels unmistakably Sicilian.

Sergio Drago works around Alcamo in northwestern Sicily, an area of dry, rugged hills between Palermo and Marsala. After studying oenology and working with other Sicilian producers, he started his own project in 2017 with just two hectares. Today, Catarratto remains at the heart of what he does.

Catarratto is one of Sicily’s historic white grapes and was long treated more as a workhorse than something worth getting excited about. A younger generation of producers around Alcamo, including Drago, has been changing that reputation by showing just how fresh, saline and expressive the grape can be.

The wine is gently pressed, spontaneously fermented and aged for around six months in stainless steel. No oak needed here. Just Sicilian sunshine, limestone and a whole lot of salty freshness.
