A juicy, slightly wild rosato from the volcanic soils surrounding Lake Bolsena in Lazio. Mistione, essentially meaning “a mix,” brings together local red and white grapes, giving you wild strawberry, citrus and herbs with bright acidity and a salty, savoury edge.

Il Vinco was started by three friends who returned to their home turf to work with the old grape varieties of the area, farming organically and making wine with as little intervention as possible. Even the name Il Vinco is a nod to tradition. Vinco refers to the willow branches once used to tie vines to their supports.

Lake Bolsena is the largest volcanic lake in Europe, so those volcanic soils are very much the real deal. They help give the wines from this part of Lazio their distinctive mineral character.
