A vibrant, deeply coloured rosato from Sicily made from Nero d’Avola, Frappato and a small amount of Moscato. Think raspberry, wild strawberry and sour cherry, with Mediterranean herbs and a subtle floral lift. It’s dry and refreshing, but with enough texture and structure to make it feel closer to a very light red than a delicate, barely-there rosé.

Lamoresca is the project of Filippo Rizzo, who farms organically in the hills of central Sicily at around 430 metres above sea level. His wines are made with indigenous yeasts and a low-intervention approach, with the focus firmly on Sicily’s native grapes and the character of the vineyards.

The blend is what makes this one particularly fun. Frappato brings bright red fruit and freshness, Nero d’Avola adds structure and depth, and just a little Moscato gives the wine an aromatic, floral edge. The 2024 gets only a few hours of skin contact before pressing, preserving that freshness while still giving it plenty of colour and character.

Rosé for people who want their rosé to actually taste like something. Get it cold and take it outside.
