A juicy, beautifully structured Gamay from Morgon in Beaujolais. Fresh cherry, raspberry and plum meet violet, subtle spice and a little licorice, with bright acidity, silky tannins and a stony mineral edge. It’s medium-bodied and incredibly drinkable, but there’s enough depth and structure here to remind you that Morgon can be seriously age-worthy.

Marcel Lapierre was one of the most influential figures in modern Beaujolais and helped pioneer the low-intervention style of winemaking that has become synonymous with the region. Today, the family continues his work, farming organically and making wine with indigenous yeasts and very little intervention in the cellar.

The 2024 comes from old Gamay vines rooted in Morgon’s poor granitic soils. The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo traditional semi-carbonic maceration without added yeast or sulphur during fermentation, followed by around nine months of aging in old wood. The wine is bottled unfiltered, with only a small amount of sulphur added when needed.

Fresh, juicy and effortlessly drinkable, but don't mistake that for simple. This is one of the bottles that helped make natural Beaujolais what it is today.
