A vibrant, deeply coloured rosé from León in northwestern Spain, made from 100% Prieto Picudo. Strawberry and raspberry lead the way with citrus, red flowers and a slightly wild, herbal edge. It’s dry and medium-bodied, with bright acidity and a subtle natural spritz that makes everything feel extra fresh.

Pardevalles has been a family winery since 1949 and has become closely associated with Prieto Picudo, a native grape that is still rarely seen outside this part of Spain. The vineyards sit at high elevation on the plateau near León, where hot days, cold nights and poor, rocky soils help the grapes hold onto plenty of acidity.

Prieto Picudo is a dark-skinned grape with naturally high acidity and tannin, which means it can make rosé with considerably more colour, flavour and structure than you might expect. For this one, the grapes are harvested at night and spend 12 hours on their skins before being pressed and fermented cool in stainless steel.

Bright, juicy and a little bit punchy. Rosé that definitely isn't trying to disappear into the background.
